Different races and ethnicities are not required to live seperately in USA.
I think some people still prefer to have friends and neighbors of the same race.
They might not want to make the effert to learn about or appreciate any other cultures.

Racisim will always exist, We just have to remember it goes both ways and its a sin and will always continue to be a sin as the world becoming more and more evil. Any issues today effecting african americans is pure laziness I have friends of the ethnic persuasion and they have no issues. They have no issues because they decided to make something of their lives as they should and as we should.

I would say if there is any issues I am going to base it on laziness and racisim on both sides. I personally have no issues. I think the racisim comes from the trashy lazy people.

Racism will never completely die out, it manifests itself in different ways than it did 50 years ago.

Segregation happens in a different way than it did at the beginning of the Civil Rights movement. Segregation is going strong through economics and education. Without education you can not get any economic clout hence inner city schools (where most blacks attend) fall short. I believe this reality is based on racism and black self destruction combined.

Racism is alive and well only more closeted.

Yes, Black Americans still experience racism, and so do other majority groups. It think like someone else mentioned it's more undercover racism and kept quiet but it definitely still exist. I honestly don't think some people have really changed the way they view Black people, but there are laws out there now that prevent people from expressing physically or verbally such feelings. A lot of people look down on Black people and they have a image of all of us like we're all the same and have no individuality. I have experience people following me in stores, I've gotten a lot of nasty stares for no reason other then skin color. But there has been progress, in this country, you know we do see now interracial couples and you see people befriended others of all races and to me that represents progression. There are good people out there who aren't shallow, brainwashed and superficial who can see pass color and see someone's spirit and heart.

Dude - unless you've been living in a cave, you've got to know that racism still exists. And yes, black still face discrimination, although we tend to segregate ourselves. Of course, it's not always against blacks. They are black racists too.

Yes, racism and discrimination still exists. It is just more sublte. A white woman once called a group of black boys ******* and looked at me and said, "Oops sorry!" I was actually scared to be around (she was my friend's mother) her because I knew deep down inside she was a racist white woman.

We can only get away from racism by learning to forget the mistakes of our childish past and build up our mature future. Love is the right heat for the maturity of all minds.

No dip! I'm in school now and people are mean to me and call me ***** and ******. The thing about it is that racism is kept on the down low and isn't as big as it was.
