I usually take one in the morning before work but I forgot this morning. I work at a doctors office so I got a sample of another kind to take just this morning. Is it ok to switch like that? I think they are the same brand but my regular one is a tablet and these are chewable.

I would ask the doctor but I am only 5 weeks and nobody at work knows yet. I go to a different doctor for my care.

Of course! What you did was perfectly fine and a much better alternative than skipping your vitamin altogether. Lucky for you that you were able to find one to take. Smart thinking.
It shows how conscientious you are that you would even think to be concerned over something so simple. It says that you are really paying attention, good for you.

It's totally ok to take a different kind of vitamin. Usually the ones they have at dr's offices are stronger thatn the ones you buy at the drug store so they might make you a little more constipated than you already are :(
And it's totally ok if you forget a day, too. One day without your prenatal vitamin isn't going to harm the baby.

Why didn't you just ask one of the doctors? Anyway, it's fine. My OB's office gave me several samples of prenatal vitamins. The nurse told me to try them and decide which one I liked better. Some can cause women more nausea than others. Once I decide which one, they will write me a prescription for that brand.

It doesn't matter what kind of prenatals you take. They all basically are the same.
