You answered your own question. They have to ammend the constitution first and they were trying. I have also heard a RUMOR that they were going to try to ammend the constitution so Pres. Bush could run for a 3rd term. Be careful of what you swallow when you read. Until the ammendments are made, it can't be done.

No because he wasn't born in the USA. If the Constitution is ammended to such, then he could, but so far Congress says they aren't even looking into doing that. It would only open a can of worms and more chaos would arise.

Plus, he is Rep. and Maria is Dem. She didn't want him to run for Governor, much less for Prez.

No, he is prohibited by Article II of the Constitution, which states the following:

"The President must be a natural born citizen of the United States (or a citizen of the United States at the time the U.S. Constitution was adopted), at least 35 years of age, and a resident of the United States for at least fourteen years."

Unless an Amendment is added allowing those not naturally born in the United States, he will not be eligible, and if he is appointed to the Cabinet, he would not be in the Line of Succession.

There have been two major candidates for the presidency born outside the country. The first, George Romney, was born in Mexico to American missionary parents. This qualified him as a candidate due to the jus sanguinis portion of the U.S. Code. John McCain is another example, born in the Panama Canal Zone to American parents.

There was a reason why the constitution is against foreigners running for president. It was to keep folks from other nations from coming to the U.S. and taking over. By making sure the person is natural born it means that the person must be raised in this country and learn its values. I think that changing the constitution to allow a foreigner eligible for president could lead to the quick downfall of America.

He sure could become the president of the USA. Not necessarily the next one.

I'd rather see Arnold president than Bush anyway.

Heck, if Arnold became president he would be one of the most successful men in history. Just look at his track record...

He's the guy who said: I'm gonna evaluate myself and find my weakest element. And for the following month I'm gonna work real hard to improve those.

See that's the kind of spirit needed in the US

He hasn't got a ghost of a chance if he spells his name like that. Moreover, only those born in the US of A can sit in the oval office. Don't think they will change the Constitution for him even though his own constitution is changing quickly from too much abuse in the past.

Well, they say that in America anyone can become President. The sad news is that this is true, and having eleced the likes of Bush, both of the bastards, not to mention Nixon, that the dumb American electorate would select Arnold is not, sadly, beyond belief.

He is not worth a constitutional ammendment!

For Pete's sake can the Republicans come up with anything/anyone better?

SWARZNIGGER? OMG did you do that to be funny?
Regardless it wasnt.
And anyways-nothing against Arnold but no way. Do you really want people not born in America to become president? I dont. Arnold might be an ok guy but would you want someone similar to Chavez of Venezuela to come to America and run for President?
