I had the opportunity towatch HOTEL RWANDA last weekend. I burst into tears early in the movie and could not stop crying for hours after the movie ended. It is of coursea true story, and Paul, the main character is still alive. I have so much respect for him for the wonderful way he helped the people and nearly paid for it with his life a few times. Does anyone share my views on the movie? It shows the absolute horror of war and genocide. Maybe George Bush should be taken prisoner for a weekend and the movie played over and over and over until he gets it into his thick head what war really does to people

Showing it to George Bush would just justify his actions.

The thing people asked after watching it is, "How could the world let this happen?" The UN stood there helplessly as almost a million people were butchered; as we did not want to get involved in the internal conflicts of a sovereign race.

Am I the only person, who wish NATO would go running in and sort it out. But that would lead to the same problems we are now in. War is a horrible thing, but internal (civil war) is truly hell on earth. The question should be do we had the right to interfere with the internal conflicts of sovereign nations? And if we do, does that justify Iraq? There is no black and white in the world, only many shads of grey.

I also watched this film last week. It was very moving. I've nothing but admiration for Paul...most outstanding courage! It just goes to show how something so horrific can come out of something which could so easily have been sorted through talk.

It made me feel bad about the world for a while, but then it's good that we do see these things as long as we're going to respond WHEN it actually happens!

It was a good movie and although I think that making GWB watch it is going to do anything it did bring awareness so the strugle over there.

If you liked that movie, you should check out "Sometimes In April" it is also a movie about the Rwandan genocide but depicted from a different aspect.

Maybe all the people who keep blowing up schools and busses with childdren in them, maybe people who blow up Buddhist statues, cut off people's heads and hold public executions in the local soccer stadium should be made to watch such a movie. Think it would do any good? I dont remember George Bush doing these things.
