-click on start > run
type msconfig
press ok
Click on the Startup tab
Look for the entry BThelpnotifier
Uncheck it if found
click on save
click on close
press restart
after restart check the box that appears and close the window

That should remove its entry from startup.

-You can uninstall the 'BT Broadband Desktop Help' from
control panel > add/remove programs panel
or follow the steps below to remove it manually

Go to C:\Program Files\Alert BT Help Notifier.exe

Find PSAPI.DLL (in this folder) and rename it PSAPI_BAK.DLL

Restart the computer

The program will find PSAPI.DLL in the \Windows\System32 directory and function normally.

BThelpnotifier.exe is System tray icon for the Virtual Assistant from BT Broadband, used to communicate internet problems via the network rather than telephone. Available via desktop shortcut or Start -> Programs - not required.Msconfig should remove it. Also also try using firefox

go to Start > Run, type in msconfig. Click the Startup tab and uncheck the processes you don't want to load.

My computer started doing this when i installed IE7 and my file was missing -PSAPI.DLL go to microsoft support for IE7.They have fixes for each individual code this will sort the problem it did mine.

Get Rid of it for good it's identified as spyware.
