I get stiff since until Oct. I was living in Puerto Rico then St. Louis and now Conn. Actually it was colder in St. Louis than Hartford since this has been a strange winter in the US.
I like to run at least 10 miles outside but when it gets down to around 10 degrees, I run inside, swim, play b-ball, etc.
What helps me is to dance around an hour before going out to run or to run at about 3 in the afternoon after playing b-ball so that I feel like it is not terribly cold since I am very warmed up.
I used to compete in indoor track and remember the smell of analgesics (like Ben Gay) in the air. Lately I have tried that also and it works more or less.
My hands get really affected by the cold since I am practicing kick boxing also and tend to hit the bag much too hard but I use Witch Hazel on the wounds and cuts and then they feel better.
