Honey, you're going to be fine, and no, it won't bother the baby. Worst case scenario, you'll get a tummy ache. But rest assured, your baby will not be harmed due to the expired bread. Most things like that have a longer shelf life than it says. The date on the packaging is just a "sell by" date. You're OK.

Don't feel bad. Most of the time the EXP date is more of a "sell by date" and as long as there was no mold present, you're fine. Also, lol, the other day I wanted cereal and milk really bad. I ate a whole big bowl and as I was finishing up the milk, my dad says "you know that milks 2 weeks old right?" I WAS STUNNED! The milk had never been opened yet but the EXP date was January 4th, 2007 and the date was January 22. Most of the time if the product has yet to be opened, the date doesn't really start to take effect. Plus...like I said, the EXP date most of the time is the sell by date and the food is good for up to 2 weeks after. I'm 17 weeks and the baby is fine!

As long as there was not any mold on the bread, Most of the dates like on milk and bread and some other consumables are actually the sell by date. I usually give food a week after the sell by date and then I throw it away!
you should be fine. Good luck.

This sounds like a real scientific observation. Perhaps the Journal of the American Medical Association should study the impact of the consumption of "expired" bread during the first trimester.

The sell by date is often generous, it just covers the supermarket. Plus it tells them when to take the stuff off the shelf.
Bread isn't that risky, its not like meat, eggs, milk or fish. You would have been able to taste if it was mouldy and you would have seen green or black spots of mould on it.
Theres no need to worry about eating bread or biscuits that are two days past their sell by date, so you can put your mind at rest.

If there was no green on it, I am sure you're fine. I don't even think a little mold would really hurt you.I know you can get food poisoning while pregnant, and it doesn't effect your baby but it makes you sicker then a dog. So I wouldn't worry about some moldy bread, if it was.

No not a problem, my dad used to work in a bakery and the bread sometimes gets re-labelled with a different date. Unless it smells funny, tastes funny or has mould onit, it is ok .

The expiry date on foods is a general guide, you really won't do yourself or your baby any harm with bread only two days past it's date.

oh why are some mothers so worried about tiny little errors such as this? how do you think your parents, grandparents and great grandparents were born? do you really think they fretted over eatig bread that was 2 days out? i think not. mothers in france are encouraged to eat soft cheeses that we are not advised to eat, and italian mothers to be are encouraged to eat liver at least twice a week with red wine every day! now come on, think seriously. is a bit of stale bread gonna cause that much of a problem?

just because the bread had gone past its best before date, it doesnt mean that it will harm you if you eat it. afterall, it is only bread and not meat or dairy. a best before date is a guideline and generally most foods last longer than that. the best before means just that - BEST before - so eating it after, it may just not taste as nice, but will still be safe. hope all is well with you and your baby anyway
