my condolences on your loss, It is going to be sad and hard but I promise you it will get better, Our pets are our family members and are very dear, Time is a great healer, try to channel yourself into something you enjoy, get out a bit, and remember the good times, You will cope, as with any family member or friend that we lose, You have to go through the grieving process and you will cope and will come out the other end.

Losing a dog can leave you with such an emptiness that only other doggy people can understand. The first few weeks are very hard & the routine you had with dog still lives on. People telling you that they had a good life never helps & getting another dog is the furthest thing from your mind. There is nothing wrong in grieving. It helps us come to terms with our loss. You may feel angry, sad & guility at different times of the day.
I would try to keep busy for now. Decorate that room you've been meaning to do for a while.

I'm so sorry to hear that, cry alot, remember the good times,,make a photo album in memory of it,if you had the dog buried in your yard put some flowers around the grave, wait a while to get another animal until your better, because you can never replace your best friend

It takes time. What always worked for me was giving another animal a home. Helps with your sadness and saves an animals life. There is no better feeling then that.

Go to your local shelter and look for a dog (or cat ) that has lost his master. You both can heal together. There are a lot of them out there who need you. Do it today.

It is extremely hard. they really become a part of your family. i wouldn't come out of my room for a week when my ginger died. everyone deals differently, there isn't just one way to get over it. i'm very sorry for your loss & understand how it can be.
