Due to the temperature being so cold this last couple of days,
my pipes have frozen. I now have them unfrozen but I have a trickle of water running so hopefully I won't freeze up again. The problem is the trinkle of water is splashing a little and causing a little mildew on the side of the sink. Any idea how to remove this?

Clorox -the best. Don't get the cheaper or imitation brand.

A mild mix of bleach and water should do the trick. Just put about 1/2 cup into a gallon of warm water and wipe the area with it. Follow with a clean water rinse.

To keep the splashing to a minimum, place a sponge on an angle from the back of the sink to the base of the sink under the flow. You may have to adjust the angle so that the splashing is minimized. Another way that sometimes works is to tie a light string on the faucet and let it hang so that the water will run down it and into the basin.

Use some bleach. You could use heated pipe tape to prevent freezing.
