I dislike housework and especially cleaning, I need to find a way to discipline myself to schedule the work each day and get it over with.

Hi! I have one friend who actually likes housework. The only thing I can tell you is that she has a very easy temperament and she never hurries or strains. Also, she cleans fairly often, so her work never gets ahead of her. I really think the key is to not hurry and strain.. it does not take that much more time and you do not make yourself upset..

The only way I know to start liking housework is to have cleaning solutions that smell good and to have clean equipment.... your broom and dust pan always clean (long handled dust pan so you don't need to lean over), and have one of those great new stainless steel mop pails that is only about 18" in diameter and has a wringer for the mop .... and the mop is one of those floppy ones which really cleans nicely ..... the mop pail is easy to handle and it is easy to change the water often so it is always fresh ... and... it goes on: your vacuum should be a nice, new clean one you can handle easily ...I think every home should have a cleaning closet with a little sink ...

When it comes to upholstery, it is better to give a little once-over-lightly than to let it become soiled.... it is no fun to sit on soiled upholstery and with the air in our cities, it is necessary to keep ahead of the game ...

Peace & Love

With no offense, and realizing it's often an unpleasant discipline, would you enjoy clutter, and dust more?

Actually one way to begin is not to think of it as an overwhelming task. As should be done in all aspects of life, take that task and break it down, into more manageable parts. Think of the clutter of a floor for example. Might it not be nice to actually SEE the floor again? Smiles.

Sharing the "duties" is another way to get through it. I realize that means another has to be involved, and a single person doesn't always have a huge turn out of friends invited to a house cleaning party.

Certainly another way to lessen the "load" is to maintain the task level, before one actually needs a scraper and acid washes to get the cleanup accomplished.

In any event, and with no offense to any who state this,,,Anyone saying they ENJOY the tasks, needs additional outlets for spending time and energies.

Invite someone over for dinner on your cleaning day. That way you have a reason to clean (to impress) and something to look forward to for yourself (friendship and good food). They'll generally help clean up after dinner (do dishes together), and then you can kick your feet up and enjoy your clean house. From there, it's just a matter of keeping your house tidy the rest of the week and not making a chore that's so unbearable...and every week you get to have dinner with a friend...a wonderful tradition you can keep for the rest of your life.

House work is never easy, and I don't know of anyone who does "likes house work".

Its like I have better things to do than cleaning up the house.

My incentive is to think of how embarrassing it would be if people turn up and the house is messy or untidy. And how good it is to sit back and relax knowing how clean my house is.

I do the washing, clean and tidy bathroom etc and dusting one day, and sweep, vacuum and mop out the next day. I also delegate jobs to family members, when they are around.

I also pump up the music, to help me get motivated.

My pet hate is cleaning the oven and deep freezers, that's usually enough to make me do the rest of the house work lol.

I put some favorite music on, think positive. Just think of the calories you burn doing housework. I have always liked doing the dishes, looking out my window at my pretty lawn, bird feeders etc.Put on a happy confident smile and dig in. Who knows, you might enjoy it ,like I do after many years.

i don't actual like doing the housework because it is tedious and boring yet as I purely can't stand an untidy or grimy residing house I grit my tooth and get it finished. i think i'm slightly an organization freak at residing house, yet that's the way i like to run my residing house. Tidy residing house, tidy ideas.

Play music really loud. Put on some comfortable clothes and drink a couple glasses of wine while you do it. Makes it much easier. Getting started is the hardest part. Just force yourself to do one small thing and go from there.

get an ipod...anytime when i need to do a little cleaning I just put on my headphone and put my ipod on shuffle and it seems to make things go a little easier. I used to just turn up the tv so i could hear it while cleaning but i would end up watching it or running to it every few minutes to sneek a peak.

Turn on some music and sing while you work. After you're finished, give yourself a few minutes to relax and enjoy your clean house.
