Who is O'Bama?
What was he before, he became famous last fall?
It almost seems like he a "new product" or something that has been the latest advertising rage. All of a sudden magazines, newpapers, internet news, cable news, etc. they are all talking about this O'bama character like he is the best thing since toast. Why all of a sudden he is the Man to be the next president besides Hillary?
Has anybody else questioned just WHY he became all of a sudden one of the top contenders for president in 2008? It just boggles my mind!

it's most likely because the entire country is so desperate for change because of this hole Bush has put us in, anything (even Hilary) looks good.

He's from Kansas, not Hawaii, as the last poster would have you believe. He's half white, half African. He attended Harvard Law where he was the editor of the Harvard Law Review, (which is a highly competetive journal each law school has that students compete to write for. It's competetive to get into Harvard Law, but more competetive to write for the Law Review and even more competetive than that to be the editor-in-chief). He's published 2 books, the first one was published over a decade ago, the second one published last fall. He was a state senator in Illinois for many years, which is probably why you, understandably, haven't heard of him until recently (unless you're from Illinois). He was chosen in 2004 to speak at the democratic national convention. He wowed the audience and democrats watching from their living rooms at home. After that speech, he became one of the most popular members of the US Democratic party. A couple months later he was elected to the US senate for the state of Illinois and the rest is history. He didn't just appear last fall, where were you in 2004 when all anyone could talk about was Obama? In 2004 I was a registered Independent still I couldn't go anywhere without someone asking me if I'd hear the Obama speech.
I think people like him because he's intelligent and articulate. He's a self made, pull yourself up by your bootstaps, man living the American dream. That's something people of all races and both political parties respect.

He's a senator from Illinois. And there's no apostrophe in Obama. It's a Kenyan name I believe.

If his political career doesn't work, he should go into radio. Great voice!

It seems like so many republicans are almost scared to death of him. All you read on yahoo answers is Obama this Obama that, Jokes about Obama and how Obama is evil...some sort of muslim terrorist in disguise.

I don't know, but I imagine he got here in the usual way. I doubt it was sudden.

As a politician, I've heard nothing about his views or promises. I've only heard that he's black. So what??
