If you're claiming to be an expert writing about finances, you'd better be financially stable and probably what most of us would consider to be rich.

The problem is that you don't define rich, so I can't answer your question except to say that any journalist writing about finances would have to be rich in my opinion to gain my respect.

Unfortunately, most of them simply know how they would like the world to work, and don't really understand the economy. Yes, it would be wonderful if everyone could provide a big house for their family and send their kids to a great college. Unfortunately, the only way to make that happen for everyone is to take away something that someone else has earned.

Some poor and lower-middle-class families are working hard. However, there are many more who simply made bad decisions in life, and now must live with them. If you have a kid at 18, you're probably never going to have a lot of money. You only have a high school education, and you're deep in debt before you have any chance to save one dollar. That decision will haunt you for decades.

Why should someone else who didn't get knocked up and worked their way through college have to give part of their hard-earned money to the girl who wasn't smart enough to keep her legs shut?
