Heres the facts:For 3 months i've had burning when i pee.Doctors thought it was bladder infection because there WAS bacteria, so i took antibiotics, 3 times! but it didnt go away.No STD's, not a yeast, not a bacterial infection.they did a cystoscopy and found nothing. There is no more bacteria..since i took the antibiotics but the burning is still there. I usually dont have frequency but sometimes do... One day it wont burn all day and the next it will burn for hours. I am not having sex. I am on Ortho tri cyclen birth control but started taking those pills after i had these symptoms so it cant be from that. My urologist says i should get this surgery that shows if i have interstitial cystitis. Other doctors don't think i have it,personally dont think i have it... WHAT ELSE COULD THIS BE!...it is unbearable when it starts burning. Also when i have frequency (which isn't all the time) it just drips out a little bit when i push the urine out. Its not the laundry detergent either.thoughts?

It is not a UTI as i stated up there..bladder infection/urinary tract, already tested. drinking cranberry juice is only for when theres bacteria in the vagina, It's irrelavent in this situation. Also I have had my Kidneys checked out and nothing is wrong with them.

If I were you I would undergo the investigations for Interstitial Cystitis. It is a poorly understood disorder that can be ignored by many physicians; however, it is actually quite prominent (700,000 Americans; 90% of which are female). You don't have to suffer; there are effective treatments that can be adopted once diagnosed. Symptoms may include feelings of pressure or tenderness around the bladder, pelvic pain, fatigue, dysuria (pain or burning with urination), hematuria (blood in the urine), urinary frequency, urgency or retention, and dyspareunia. Women's symptoms will often get worse during menstruation, but not always. Another condition to rule out is Endometriosis of the urogentinoury tract, but depending on other symptoms you are having I would suspect the IC first. Get the cystoscopy if symptoms persist; hemorrhages on the bladder wall that the procedure might show will confirm the diagnosis. The failure to respond to antibiotics is a significant factor in diagnosing IC as well. Good luck and hope it turns out alright.

Therapist, I had to weigh in on this question although I am a male. I've had three bladder infections in the last three months. I haven't felt completely healthy after the full 10 day regimen of Ciprofloxacin every time I've been through this. I'm getting tired of needing to urinating 20 times a day. My Urologist has concluded that if ANY urine is retained in the bladder after normal daily urination, there is normally a breeding place for re-infection. My last PSA test was 2.4. I'm getting older and the prostate enlarges as we age.The Docs. nurse practitioner called in Flomax 0.4 MG to be taken I pill a day after the last meal to help the bladder empty itself fully. I asked my wife ( head nurse in an O.B. office) if this medicine is ever prescribed to woman. She never has seen it prescribed to ladies. I hope your Urologist gets to the bottom of your issue. It's no fun!
