It was a blind date when I was 16. My best friend set me up with one of her boyfriend's friends.
When we went out a few weeks later, an old man gave us a penny each to keep and said that we'd always be together.
We been married for nearly 28 years now. Happily too!
(I've now just given one of my son's friends and his girlfriend a penny each to keep!

Believe it or not, we met on a party line. We were both bored, it was raining, and of course we had nothing better to do.(And we were only 16) We started talking, and he gave me his home number. After I got clicked off the party line, I called him up, and we started talking. We talked for a couple of months, and finally decided to meet at a new years eve party.
Well, I brought 2 other girls with me, and a guy friend too, so it wouldn't feel so weird, but since we knew each other so well over the phone, we were comfortable with each other, and hit it off good. Needless to say, we got together (as a couple) that night, and got married 1 1/2 years later. As of now, we've been married for 13 years, so it worked for us!

At college, while hitting on one of her friends. She walked in the room, looked good, so I gave up on the friend, started talking/flirting with her. The rest is history; my wife thinks it's a riot.

I met her while Rock Climbing.
I looked over and saw three lovely ladies, went over to introduce myself and a few years later I was married to the prettiest of the group. :)
