Although I hope he stays on for all 7 Potter films, I think it's great that he's doing Equus, and showing that he's growing up and maturing as an actor. He's also filmed something for TV which will be shown soon.

I think he's trying to be seen as other than Harry Potter. He wants to have an acting career after the Harry Potter movies are all made. I suppose this is one method of gaining notice & showing he can act in other roles.

He's taking it upon himself to not be pigeon-holed as "Harry Potter" for the rest of his career. Good for him. Maturing and growing as an actor.

i think its a good thing, it will bring his heartthrob status sky high. girls will now really want to rip his clothes off.
