Cartoon network did something dumb.

And they should pay the costs of the response.

You guys are missing the point here: Let's go back to 2001. Where did the hijacked planes take off from? Logan Airport, Boston. Now don't you think that the City of Boston, Boston Police, and Massachusetts Port Authority ended up with a lot of egg on their face?

Given that, if I were a Boston cop I would be extremely suspicious of anything out of the ordinary. After all, it is not difficult to hide a small incendiary or explosive device in something as small as a lunchbox.

Besides: You still need to pull permits for any form of advertising. You need permission to put up yard sale signs. Don't you think you would need to consult with SOME KIND of city office before pulling that kind of crap?

Given that no one came from Turner or The Cartoon Network came forward during the day to announce that it was all a publicity campaign, I think that Turner should at least be found negligent. The deployment of personnel to blcok off streets, and dispose of these devices cost money. Someone is going to have to pay for that. Jail time is not the issue here. It's the panic that this tunt caused.

In a post-9/11 world, you cannot blame the cops for reacting. I for one prefer tht they take the chance so that I don't get blown to smithereens. That's what they get paid to do. And if that means that ad agencies have to check in and announce to the cops what it is that htey are going to do, so what???

Turner is going to have to pay, and the ad agency that came up with it will likely get popped with a fine. Jail time I think is taking it a bit too far.

"You know it had to be the hair brained scheme of someone under 35 who came up with this and they should be canned and the program pulled."

Why someone under 35? Are people over 35 suppose to be super smart?

You are ignorant for even posting this on the internet.

This whole situation is blow out of proportion. I understand the panic issue because of post 9/11 but jeeze. No one can take a joke anymore.

Boston = Breathe Deep.

Yes punishment should be sought and restitution too. That little stunt probably cost the city of Boston a lot of money plus wasted the time of police and others when they might have been needed elsewhere.

You know it had to be the hair brained scheme of someone under 35 who came up with this and they should be canned and the program pulled.

hell no i think everyone in the Boston area overreacted in this matter and talking about prosecuting these peoples for putting up signs is just ridiculous it make the leaders in Boston look stupid when other big cities have the same sign and there was no reaction from anyone else . no they need to let these peoples that have been charge go free those sign had been up in Boston for three week something very fishy about this .d@m i haven't been suspended yet oh well i keep trying

It's pathetic that they would even think there was a problem. Not the brightest crayons in the box. Out of all the cities, why is Boston the one having the problem? It isn't so hard to figure out that it's an advertisement.

No, the whole city is way over reacting. If you look at the pictures it is obvious that it is only a poster with lights.

The mayor needs to grow up. He's freaking out like a whiney kid.

I have no problem with the seeking money for the cops, but criminal charges...give me a break!

How was this even a terrorist scare?! Have you seen these "bombs"? They look like lite-brite's of ignignokt and err, and they're not ticking or anything, just sort of glowing. and the funniest thing is that a HARVARD college professor mistook them for bombs. Go America!

Unfortunately, its pretty much a crime because of the way it turned out. It should not have ended up that way, though. They put those things up in cities throughout the US, and only Boston had the problem. Hopefully they will only have to pay a fine, and that poor man won't have to spend any time in prison!!

I think the city is ridiculous! I think Boston needs to apologize for not having a sense of humor.

Those poor men who got arrested. It's way out of line.
