No, undesirable music sends a foul message. there is a super number of rap in direction of sending a sturdy message or showing community strife yet those don't get radio play and are not as usual with us young babies immediately. to boot, any music can deliver a foul message, many human beings suggested rock and roll substitute into the devils music, and jazz substitute into satanic and the such. The older era will continually have low expectancies for the youngers music through fact it incredibly is not thiers.

Isn't what they said in the 50s and 60s about Rock and Roll? You cannot generalize about a genre of music...you need to be specific about the bands, artists and lyrics that are in question.

I would agree that there are a number of so-called artists out there that have very little talent or musical ability...but are hugely successful in the rap music genre. Their messages are violent and disrespectful, and I would agree, they send the wrong message to anyone who listens. But what does that say about the kids who listen to it? Why would they be so enamoured with an individual who has very little talent and raps about hatred, disrespect and violence? THATS the more important issue...why are kids listening?

I LOVE HIP-HOP/RAP! (i.e. Luda, 50 Cent, Nas, etc etc...)

I'm a mother too, my son is 10 and loves hip-hop/rap too; I believe that teaching kids the RIGHT values is a parent's duty only; songs are not meant to TEACH anything, music is a hobby, it's made to entertain not to replace parents/schools; I've enough of people blaming rappers for their lyrics! People should learn how to be Good parents instead!

I mostly just listen to the beat. However, I think they could rap about other things and perhaps send a more peaceful message.

yeah. sort of. don't get me wrong, some of them are good, but the ones i've been hearing lately are just plain... euch..
rap just isn't what it used to be. although other music, like some genres of rock tend to be violent or rather... satanic..
still, rap isn't what it used to be, now rap just doesn't have any soul anymore. it's just about the bling2 and the hos and whatever.

i have to admit, i find angsty self-pitying emo-ish music more tolerable than most rap music... at least they're forward about being self-pitying.

Rap was never positive. LOL
Can't have crap without rap.

But, listening to KISS, Ozzy, Maiden and Priest growing up, all of our parents thought we'd be doing drugs and in jail as well.

My Dad reminds me too that my grandmother figured 50's rock and roll was the most corrupt thing ever.

Times change, but parental views on their kids choice in music never will.

Absolutely and it is not singing anyway, it appears to be poetic lyrics spoken with music taken from the beat nit folk days of the 1960's from white people.

being YOUNG myself, I do not like rap music ( most of it is as you said) There is enough negative influences out here to corrupt young people, lets have some decent music.
