My computer is running XP. The slowness usually happens when surfing the internet or this is what starts it. I do regular maintenance such as disk clean-up, empty cache, cookies and all other history, I have registry program and run this. I don't know what it is. I'm pulling my hair out and I'm ready to call the Geek Squad. Does anyone have any suggestion, please, please?

According to your description, there may have some regsitry errors in your PC to cause "computer run slow".You need to clean you PC.
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer you create junk in the registry. You need to scan and clean your PC with registry cleaner.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your PC and Internet performance dramatically. It even can speed up your pc up to 300%..

If your computer was previously fast then slowed down, it is likely that you are infected with malware, that is Virus, trojan horse, spyware etc.
Try this:
Right click your task bar and select task manager.
Then look as to how many processes are running.
If you have over 43 processes, you probably have spyware. If you have under 25 processes, you probably do NOT have spyware.
If you do have spyware or a bunch of programs on there you do not want, go to Start, Run, and type "msconfig" in the box.
Click the startup tab, and Uncheck any (or all) programs you do not want to start at boot up. When you do reboot, there will be a box up there, that you can pretty much ignore by checking the box "do not show this next time"

Try Defragmenting your computer

Start>All programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter

Try also scanning you computer for viruses and Adware.

My suspicions would be that you have adware, as it only seems to be when you surf the internet

Don't call the geek squad as they suck (no certifications). Give me an e-mail with all the specs of your computer and I'll be happy to help.

Have you moved all of your emails to a folder?
what do you operate with, how old is the computer, and do you have a good anti-virus?
Call a reputable computer refurbishing company.
