Hi
I have looked every where but cannot find an electric stanley knife, there must have been made by now. There are hand held electric saws with different blades (saw blades) but no stanley blade, there are handheld electric potato peelers and all sorts of electric gadgets but cannot seem to find a electric carpet knife.
I cut large amonts of carpet into different shapes using wooden stencils and my job would be a lot easier with an electric stanley knife. Have these been invented yet or is there anything else I can use ??????????????????

Thanks for the answers but I will explain why I need an electric stanley knife. The carpet I cut is half carpet and the other side is half rubber (very tough rubber) hard to cut even with stanley. And cutting 40 to 50 large shapes around stencils quite difficult. More harder than peeling potatoes and there is an electric hand held potato peeler (I have one) so there should be electric stanley knife.
Regards to the cutting tools that some people mentioned on different websites yes these are good for straight cuts but when coming to corners and bends they will just cut the wooden stencil due to the diameter size of rotary blade. Yes someone has mentioned I should invent one I have e-mailed many companies in china to see if they can make

Why do you need an electric one, a stanley blade is like a craft knife, it doesnt need power, you use it by cutting into the material and dragging it as far as you need.
They haven't made one, because it doesn't make sense too, what differenc would it make? The way you use it doesn't lend itself to being motorised.

An electric knife requires less physical effort than an ordinary knife and produces neater slices. The device consists of two serrated blades that are clipped together. An electric knife or electric carving knife is an electrical kitchen device used for slicing foods. An electric knife requires less physical effort than an ordinary knife and produces neater slices. The reason it has not been made is that it is not supposed to work like a saw moving up and down it is a small razor sharp blade that you cut and drag with.It just would not be any advantage to you because you would still need to put on all the pressure it to cut because it has no teeth

Stanley is just a brand name like Pepsi, McDonalds & Chevy. And Stanley is not a very good brand name for tools.
Try "Carpet Cutter" with words like "electric", "cordless", "battery" & "powered", including "portable" & "hand held". They have around been for years.
And stgoodric has posted a link to a page that sells some hand held powered carpet cutters for sale.

Stanley sticks to what works. If it isn't broke, don't fix it
