An estimate as to the size as far as we know about what is out there. Over time the siz of the universe has increased dramatically as we learned more about what is there.

There may be more than one universe and even could be a great number of them just as there are a great number of galaxies.

Right now, it can't. We don't know how large the universe is.

What we do know is how large the "observable universe" is. This is the area of the universe we have been able to see so far. The observable universe measures 46.5 billion light years in any direction.
