It could be because there is not enough blood circulation due to perhaps disuse atrophy or perhaps due to the fact that part of your body was at rest for two or three hours. You can find good home remedies for this. I did find some at http://ailments.in/peripheralneuropathy.html

What is ur age & occupation if ur a typist or work too much with computer than u may get carpel tunnel syndrome in which the facia round ur wrist tightenes & leads to pressure on nerves of hands giving rise to numbness but his is usualy not associated with swelling . If ur ar heavy smoker than thses may be due to poor circulation in peripheral parts may be ranoud's disease. Another thing is may be it is neuritis due to diabetes . In any condition soaking them in warm water wont help but ultimately it would made the situation bad. First go to ur doctor & get tested for blood sugar & color doppler blood flow studyies in ur hands .

It does sound like carpel tunnel syndrome. My hands and fingers go numb easily from years of playing drums and riding bikes. Best to see the doc.

you may have carpal tunnel syndrome.that's what i had.same stuff numbness, tingling in fingers, hands swell and fingers.the reason you may have carpal tunnel is because of the signs you gave the blood has no where to go it stops at the finger tips causing the tingling.i had surgery on both my hands last year.one was in march the other was in July .they actually feel better.so talk with a doctor and they can give you carpal tunnel test on your hands
