Boil a pan of water on the stove.

You can add fruit to make it smell good too.

Dryer sheets. Rub them on the couch and maybe the carpet.

Wow you and your cat must be sending out an electric vibe!! lol, jk, your apartment is too dry, you need to add moisture to your air, here is a few things you can do when you shower dont turn the fan on leave the door open, also when cooking/boiling water dont turn the vent fan on and consider buying a humidifier. Good luck!

At a guess, I would say that you have nylon or nylon/mix carpet in your apartment Why not just buy a can of anti-static spray from the supermarket or hardware store. Just check the label to make sure it won't affect the sofa fabric or your mix of carpet. Should do the job.

You need a humidifier because it is too dry in there.Another solution is to boil water, or run the shower on hot and leave the bathroom door open. You can use a vaporizer also.

One way to control static is by adding humidity. Another is by changing the fabrics. Humidity is usually more practical and often helps people with less sinus drying.
