Kids from a local church youth group here are stealing hubcaps, disrupting other churches, jumping on roofs, starting fights...

Then there are the other kids who join gangs of theives, and the violent loner kinds.

It seems to me most of these lack self esteem and parental guidance, but I what can be done to help them?

A lot of their parents don't seem to care, or do they?

The police here do nothing, they use VOIP in their call center, but that's another problem.

The kids like being chased by the police anyone. One told me he got a rush from it.

Still, I guess we can keep trying until the cops get it right.

If they're from a church group, go to the group leader and let them know what's going on. Obviously the message isn't getting through to these kids and the church needs to be more responsible in setting them straight.

In general, get as many of your neighbors in your community together and start a neighborhood watch. Get tough with these kids, but not mean. Show them that you intend to take your neighborhood back. It'll take some effort on everyone's part but don't give up. Let the police know what you're doing. They may be more willing to respond if they know the neighborhood is behind them. Good luck!

Call the police. Sometimes it requires a little bit of tough love.

They will get the hint. Obviously they are demanding attention...they may realize though that the negative attention they are recieving isn't they type of attention they want...
