I used to ask that too until I watched an episode the other night and last night as well. I have never laughed so hard in my life. These people put themselves out there to be ridiculed. I find it funny that they are so shocked to find out they can't sing. Last night really made me cry. Sherman, the elderly gentleman, is a true idol for americans to want to be like. That just goes to prove the show is just for ratings and entertainment, nothing more than that. He sang "You belong to Me" and it was to his wife who just passed away from cancer. He still had the petition in his hand that he was having signed when she was still alive. There is no doubt in my mind that this country is screwed up when they can turn that man away and allow someone with not even an once of decency through. In case you haven't been out in population lately, this country is based on material things and what people look like. They are not concerned with anyone being a possitive role model. Thank you.

It's about hope and dreams. It's got to be terrifying to sing in front of millions of people and then be judged by Simon (Paula and Randy love everybody). When someone with a truly beautiful voice FINALLY comes on the stage, it's great.

Well, I think it was just to halarious to see such idiots making fools of themselves at first. But after 5 years I am getting bored of it. I think I've seen too much and the appeal is wearing off..
