UN and similar other organisations are all formed by major countries and for a purpose which often does not offer anything to smaller countries. The current decision making mechanisms of UN, for example, is an obstacle to a democratic structure. Also permanent members of the Security Council are problematic. The Lebanon, Iraq and Afghanistan wars are just recent examples of this very undemocratic nature of these global organisations. A truly democratic organisation could only be possible once the minorities' voice is assured in decision making mechanisms.

Depends what they are debating, the UN security council for example is not truly democratic because all it take is for one state to veto and it wont go through. Also the security council seems a tad out dated, I dont agree with the permenantcy of the states on the council. In case you dont know what im talking about the security council is made up of 5 states (US, UK, Russia, China, France) in was decided in the time of the cold war right after ww2. It doesnt seem democratic that these 5 states get to decide on important issues that effect the rest of the world.

The United Nations is only a meeting place for the nations of your land to gather and discuss their problems. It is not an elected senate nor a ruling body of any kind. Democracy is not in its foundation.

mmm, i don't think theres such a concept as true democracy, no system ever fully works, but as regard to the UN, i think it's highly flawed, it's lacks proper funding and is basically the puppet of rich and powerful countries, plus lets face it, it doesn't exactly do much.

The UN is a terrorist enabling organization.

Stop the funding now.

surely NO!!! absolutely none of the global organizations care about the reality, peace and human rights.they just talk and talk more about them.when israel claims about having nuclear bombs, nobody cares, but when countries of the world want to have peaceful nuclear facilities to make energy, then democracy ,peace and human rights are being harmed !!!!!!!

Yes; those individuals who are against what they stand for only wish that they could profit from what they do. If they could; it wouldn´t be any complaints !
