No it's not anti-immigrant. If the immigrants don't like the laws then the need to go to countries where the laws coincided with there religious system.
The President of the Muslim Council of Montreal needs to find another country the has never set its clock ahead. It was many centries ago in europe that woman were stoned to death for adultery and other such acts.

I think it's anti-respect. It's an insult for a town council to add rules directed at a specific population that are already a part of Canadian law. People are not stoned to death in Canada. Muslim have not been guilty of such a thing in Canada, so there's no need to create an extra layer of regulation to remind them not to.
If there was a small town in Canada that had a higher than average constituency of ex-patriot Americans living and working there... would it make sense for town council to add rules against ownership of handguns? Even if those laws are already in place, and even if Americans living there didn't own handguns?
No... and there's no need to insult the Muslims either. And that's all these rules were ever intended to do; insult Muslims.

Did you read your article?
If you did you would have read these lines
"Earlier this month the Journal de Montreal newspaper published a poll of Quebecers showing that 59 percent admitted to harboring some kind of racist feelings.
The Herouxville regulations say girls and boys can exercise together and people should only be allowed to cover their faces at Halloween."
The reason why this law is offensive is because it has the underlying false premise that Muslim immigrants are going to try to do stuff like stoning people or burning them with acid. It's basicaly a passive aggressive French Canadian way of saying "we think you are barbarians and don't want you here". Of course immigrants rights acitivists are going to be pissed about it, they have every right to be.

This is so laughable. The Canadians "have" to conform to the immigrants? Back-assward way of doing things.

He's an idiot. Just another example of why Islam is more of a threat to this world than Christianity.

I don't even care if it is. PC needs to go. The needs of safety and protecting our freedoms are more serious than the needs of people to not be offended by the truth.
