Hello you are looking for me????? Court marriage as you call it is solemnized under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 all such marriages can take place between any two Indian citizens irrespective of their religion, caste or creed, and you can say this is the secular form of marriage available in our country. Such a marriage is solemnized before the marriage officer/registrar usually D.C. deputy commissioner of the area (Sub registrar is the marriage officer/registrar only in case the already solominisied marriage under any other Act has to be registred) where both or any of the parties to such a marriage reside. Cost of such a marriage is merely Rs90/- or as the rate prevalent in your area. Now how you proceed? Both the parties to the marriage file a joint application before the marriage officer along with individual affidavit attested by notary public specifying the age(boy 21yrs &girl 18yrs), place of residence, marital status(unmarried or divorcee as the case maybe), mental status(not idiot or not with unfit mind), not related to each other. Along with this you have to give proof of age , proof of residence, & the application of such a marriage should be witnessed by 3 independent adult persons, affix one photograph of each of the parties & all the 3 witnesses. You have made such an application to the marriage officer in person along with all the 3 witnesses. On receiving such an application the marriage officer issues a month notice regarding the intended marriage & get such a notice affixed on the notice board out side his office, a copy of such notice is sent to the marriage officer under whose jurisdiction the other party lives, also a copy is to the individual parties address. After expiry of the period of notice a date is fixed on which all the persons parties to the marriage & 3 witnesses appear again before the marriage officer who declare them married & issue a certificate to this regard. This is the brief procedure I have told you here, incase you want any clarification you can always email me directly. As far convertion to Hindu religion is concerned you have to get in touch with the Arya Samaj Mandir who preform the Shudhi ceremonies & convert the person to Hindu , a certificate is also issued to this regard.

Bisexluam has posted the correct proceedures about the court marraige.

About each others community accepting your marraige - Who cares? You love each other right.

Converting into a hindu is a different task. There are few social groups who would allow the conversion, but the basic hindu criteria is to be a born hindu. Why do you need to think about conversion. You can both carry on with your own religions and keep respecting each others cultures. Sharukh Khan and Gauri Khan, Amir Khan and Kiran Rao are quite well known couple. I nver heard anything about one of them getting converted. One of my cousins married a Muslim. Both the families have accepted the other person regardless of religion and didn't emphasize on conversion.

It is a Civil Marriage you are talking about. Go to any Marriage Registrar. There must be hundreds of them in Mumbai. Know the procedures directly from them. Shariat accepts marriage conducted according to Muslim rites only. But in India Civil Marriage is recognised by the Government. So it has legal acceptance by all communities. If you want to know the procedure of converting to Hinduism or Islam, contact a knowledgable priest of any temple or a maulvi. If one of the spouses declares his/her intention to convert to the other's religion during a Civil Marriage, it can be conducted then and there, I think. No need to visit a mandir or masjid in that case.

Neither the Hindu Marriage Act accepts marriage with a muslim nor the Islam accepts such marriage with a Hindu. You may get married under the Special Marriage Act. Visit the Marriage Registrar (usually Sub Registrar) of your or other party with 3-5 passport photos and 3 witnesses, fill up the proforma of Notice Of Intended Marriage. After one month notice period, visit again like that and get Certificate of Marriage after complying with the routine procedure. Both have to present the proof of residence and age. .......MUSLIM LAW does not accept a marriage with Hindu. Islam directs to believe and follow the teachings of its holy book and its last prophet. It considers all sexual relations out of the wedlock as great sins and its criminal laws impose the punishment of lashing/death by pelting stones. Even today its followers (commonly known as orthodox or fundamentalists) voluntarily believe and practice such commands. Anybody having belief and practising such teachings is called a Muslim (with no castes therein); may be he was belonging to any caste, creed, culture, rites, traditions, usuages etc. earlier. No certificate thereof is necessary from any authority and none is lawfully authorised therefor .. In all the Indian laws a Hindu is defined as the one WHO IS NOT A JEW, CHRISTIAN, MUSLIM OR PARSI. Thus if someone is not from thoese communities, he is a Hindu, whatever may be his belief and practice. Legally there is no procedure to convert in Hindu religion. Hinduism is a religion or culture, custom, rites, tenets, tradition and usage etc? Hindu scholars are very clear and unambiguous on this aspect. Religions are something different. .. First of all in the muslim religon the female cannot marry someone from another religion. If you truly love this girl you will have to convert to islam for her. You will have to provide proof from an imam or sheik at a local mosque that he and 2 others have witnessed you taking your shahada (converting to islam). This is the only way you can marry this girl. Otherwise her parents will forbid the marriage, and it will not be accepted in the muslim community.

Good luck

u need to show some proof that u r both of the elligible age.. take a ration card with u.

i don't think the girl's parents wud accept the marriage so easily. u have gotta be very patient and sensible after ur marrage if u want it to be accepted.

u can convert to islam in a mosque. ask the maulvi for the details. ur gf can convert to hinduism by marrying u automatically or by undergoing "shuddikaran"

Go to the marriage court in Bombay.

It is near Bombay university, Oval Meadan area, they will give you details.

A lawyer may be a good Idea but most Muslim girls would ask you to convert and it may be more acceptable to her family.

In civil marriage there is no conversion required, but there is always a questions about raising the children.
