I never believed it possible because though I was raised in India in an alternative lifestyle I am a very scientifically inclined person.

But there is no denying that energy emits from hands so whether the pendulum is held by a hand or is held over the hand emitting the energy there is a force at work which makes that pendulum work.

Whether or not the movement of the pendulum indicates the TRUTH of a question or not is a different matter. There you are getting in to the debate as to whether the energy which makes the pendulum is from the person or from a more enlightened source which is able to answer correctly.

The kind of questions you can ask need to have one of two answers- yes or no. Ideally.

I know a healer who ALWAYS uses his pendulum before he treats his patients. He DEFINITELY heals his patients (seen him cure horses- no reason for them to have been healed via auto-suggestion and so are a good case study) but why he does that beforehand I do not know. I have seen the pendulum move and he then does his stuff.

I HAVE a pendulum. Bought it, of all places, at the Hydro-Electirc plant in the Highlands of Scotland. Woman at the giftshop was an average lady but was so impressed by that wee stand of them- she told me with wide eyes about a dowser who'd been in last year and put her hand over the stand and lo and behold they all started to move!!! LOL! Go figure.

What do I use it for? Not really. I use my tarot cards rather- I have this set and I pull a card which "wants" to be read for inspiration and not for answers. I use it for guidance and then set out to solve the riddle myself. Which is what I wonder is the purpose of the pendulum too.

asking them questions works no better then flipping a coin but you can use them to tell time. Like the one at the museum of science and industry in Chicago.

If you really want to see if they work it is simple to find out. Take two people one comes up with a bank of say 50 or 100 questions to ask it that they know the answer too. They right down the answers. Then the second one who does not know the answers will use the pendulum to try and answer the questions. then at the end compare the number of right and wrong.

The person reading the pendulum can not know the answers to the questions because this will affect there reading. Also why would someone need ask a question if they already know the answer.

to get a percentage all you have to do is this

(number right)/(total number of questions)*100%=

Now designate one side of a coin either heads or tails to be yes and the other to be no. Each of you flip the coin for each question. here it does not matter if you know the answers because there is no interpretation in heads or tails it is pretty cut and dry. once you have the data for each of those runs and get a percent right you can compare it to that for the pendulum.

even from this small scale experiment you should see that the pendulum does not work for answering questions.

Yes, I feel they really work. They project the users inner subconscious. Your answer is there - always has been - deep within you, but often problems prevent one from connecting with it thru the conscious mind. As a matter of practicality we allow our daily distractions - food, rent, insurance, friends, lovers, etc - to cloud our thoughts and minds therefore masking the answer.

You can ask about anything, just frame your Q so that the answer is simply pos or neg. Doubt or uncertainty, however, can also show up. When that happens take a break (a whole day maybe) and ask again later. You already know the answer, you just need more info (time) to get clear about it.

I think pendulums do work - with a good, dedicated dowser who is focused on his questions and not biased! You can ask any questions.
Take a look at this web page which is all about dowsing, pendulums etc...

Pendulums work, but not for asking questions.

You can ask anything you want, but the question needs to be in a YES/ NO/ MAYBE type of format.

I do believe that they work, but sceptics can always tell you they do not.

It's from the energies coming through you. Anything with a yes or no answer. Don't stake your life on what they say, however. Take it under advisement and with a grain of salt.

Anything works to answer questions if you want it to. In other words it "gives" you an answer and then you MAKE that answer come true. I could use my cat to get answers if I wanted.

They work like the planchett on a Ouija board works, with the thoughts in your subconscious mind. That's why you have to be very still and quite your mind.
