Yes I stopped talking to 1 this week when I realised I can't be bothered with her petty, soap opera life. I told her to grow up and then call me!

If you're referring to 'real' friends, not just acquaintances, but people with a vested interest in your well-being; then I don't believe in out-growing each other. We can't choose our relatives, but we can choose our friends, and if something valuable grows from that mutual choice between two totally unrelated people, it should be cherished forever.
I've had friends who've decided to cut all ties, and it's one of the most painful things that I've had to endure. And what makes it worse is that there is often no clear explanation for the break up.

i think that probably happened maybe 5 years ago when we all went off to college, we still keep in touch but all my friends have b/f now as well for past few years and they're different ladies coz of that

For me its the other way around...
All my mates have out grown me... they are all getting hitched and have kids popping out and I'm still a bacholar and like the same stuff....
But eh... I'm cool with it...
