Unless Israel gets brave enough to do this (again) I don't see the USA performing tactical airstrikes on the Reactors/Heavy Water facilities in Iran.

However; your question presupposes that the USA led forces take out these facilities. Other than the initial surface to air defense strikes and maybe a few remotely launched missiles at the carrier task group in the Gulf I don't see any retalliation.

China is a big factor in all of this. China will both protect and tie the hands of Iran. China is one of Iran's major export nations for petroleum products and also a major provider of military hardware. So China will want to protect her interest. In order to not incur Chinese wrath which could have nasty implications on the global economy, the US will have to make certain the strikes are surgical and don't cause any damage to the petroleum infrastructure. On the reverse, China will not allow Iran to strike back fully as the retalliation would also damage the forementioned infrastructure.

They will militarily attack any shipping through the Straits of Armuz where most of the world's oil supply is shipped. They will establish a blockade. They have recently been conducting naval exercises in that area, and have shown off a torpedo that is said to be the fastest in the world. (It's unbelievably fast!) The supply of oil will be left in the Straits, and will cause massive oil spills such as Saddam did during Desert Storm and when he was forced out of Kuwait. The UN/US will intervene without nuclear weapons there because of the strategic area would need to be secured & made safe. The only way Iran could resist US sea power would be to have Russia get involved. Who knows if they would or not.

If anything like that happened [extremely unlikely] Then as another poster pointed out they may try to close the straits. They would not go attack any NATO or American country [they know that Iran could last about 3 weeks in a war with the US]

They will complain a lot, probably send their proxy armies Hezbola and Hamas to attack Israel and deny they were trying to develop nukes.

not much more they can do, they have a fairly formidable military for an Arab nation, its' a joke compared to Israel or the USA.

EDIT:

I don't think the poster below is correct about closing the straits of Hormuz, how will Iran take out 2 US carrier battle groups? That would be a requirement to such a blockade.

Although as I think this will NOT happen but I expect that Iran is going to shut Hormuz canal in the gulf and disturb the security of Arab gulf states and send fighters to Iraq to fight American troops there.
