The best free thing I ever received was the gift of salvation.
Not all things cost money...Love ..Honor..Peace
Sunrise, Sunsets.....rainy days ..sunny days...all of our days and nights....Beauty of nature...The only one of these that actually comes with a price is Peace/Freedon.

Well...if you strip anything down to it's basic nuts and bolts...NOTHING is free. But...sitting by a stream..fishing with your kid on a nice sunny day..talking about things in general is free. (Ya, ya..you bought bait and drove to the river therefore spending money on gas and blah, blah, blah) BUT..it really is the little things..and the things that do cost little or nothing that make a world of difference. So..my answer is yes..all things considered..the best things in life are truly free.

This statment makes more sense if you are dying.
All of the above answers will ring true. None of the purchases, the late nights overtime so you can feed the baby, buy the house, the first new car, the swimming pool- none of these things matter.
If you are a move buff, watch the last 10 minutes of American Beauty, I think 1998(?) Kevin Spacey.
The real trick to this is to realize that every minute is your last one here. That everything you take for granted now will soon be gone. These free things. Love. Honor. Freedom. Beauty. The physical world that surrounds you. Your spiritual link to God. The loved ones that are close to you, and the ones that are not. If you had to pay for them, what would be the cost? Who could pay, who could not? Thank God they are free, and everyone can revel in life itself.

The statement is completely right.
The best thing that can happen to a person is having and doing the things he/she loves to do while earning a living. These best things that we believe we want and like are not actually from the outside environment, they are already in us, a part of us, which is why, it is for free. Like for example, you sure want to experience God, wouldn't you? He is right with you. You are part of him. All you need to do is feel His presence. Experience his Love. We manifest this by giving ourselves to the service of others so that others may learn about Him being in them too.
The air we breath is for free, all we need to do is inhale and exhale one at a time. Our parents are there, when you need them, FOR FREE! Friends are for FREE too aren't they?
The best things in life are actually those that each one of us already have but don't know that we have them. Discover them in you, they are for Free!

The Best Things in Life are Free - Indeed they are free. Air, Water, Food, Place to stay, Health and Love are all given to us by Nature (God) when we are born into this world. Honestly if we know how to share these with others we need not fight for these essentials. When we are born as a child what is our effort to obtain these, nothing at all. We are looked after by the mother out of her love. Food is available aplenty around us. Our only effort is to get them . For a normal body good health is inborn, till it is spoiled by us.

You cant buy the unconditional love of your loved ones.
You can't buy genuine happiness and contentment.
You can't buy wisdom.
You can't buy respect.
You can't buy loyalty.
etc.
These are the best things in life. Money is good because it makes life easier but some things can't be bought.

The things in life we don't buy are the most rewarding: love, respect, laughter, air, sunshine, flowers blooming after a long winter, a rainbow after the storm....

you can buy most anything you want today if you have the income. You can have it all, mansions to live in, new cars, bran name this & that, money, respect, power, anything/ everything, but if you are not happy, content, and at peace in your life, if you don't have love to share, Then what is it all worth?
You can't buy love, contentment, peace of mind, you have to earn it from inside yourself.

indeed, they are- love, happiness, beauty of nature, wisdom, air, freedom, luck and so many others. unfortunately, free as they are, some of them are harder to get than if they could be bought...so it's nice to know they are free but you should be able to get them anyway...
