Unfortunantly yes. You could refuse but they will stop your benefits. But thats the way this bullshit country is run. You get all the unemployed people and force them to do slave labour with the threat of their benefits being cut off and the goverment say they are fighting for freedom and demoracy. What a pile of ****

You could tell them to look at your CV, & say that's not what you were trained to do - or you could lose your benefits by not taking the placement.

Well if they offer you a job that you are able to do and the work place accepts you and you refuse it they can stop your benefits

No they can't force you...It's a free country. You don't have to do anything they say...But they can decide to stop feeding you.
