single room, believe me u'll be thankful later. first of all, privacy, can bring people back if u want. also don't have to organise ur life round someone elses. the smallest things like when u go to bed and get up can cause major friction. definitely single room

a room that I share that costs less, because I get really bored when I'm alone, so I would just go over to someone else' room all day anyways. I haven't gone to collage yet, still in high schoool, so I haven't really experienced either.

Determining factor for me is can you choose your roomie (ie pick someone you already know).

If you room with someone you know and you get along, it's a great experience. However, if you room with someone that you don't get along, you can't sleep, study, etc due to whatever... it'll be a nightmare.

I started out off campus in my own apartment, but it was too far away so i wanted to move on campus. I got shafted in the priority and ended up in "overassignment" where they put you 4 to a room (normally for 2) with bunk beds instead of regular. Deal was that if a room opened up, overassignments got priority. Thing was, none opened up to get down to where we were on the list... so a whole semester in one room with 3 other guys. 3 of us were sophomores, 1 was a freshman. We almost killed that freshman by the time it was over... he went 100% party mode, didn't study, goofed off in the room, kept bringing his girlfriend over, having her sleep over... we ended up barring her from the room completely and him also except for sleeping during finals week.

Only good thing was we got bumped to #1 on the wait list, so we got to choose exactly where we wanted to move to the following semester, and we got to pick our roommates. Got a friend of mine from class, and dorm life was great from there on out.

If you are serious about sleeping when you need to, studying when you need to... you should go solo if you can afford it (random roomie is the luck of the draw... could be good, could be bad).

A room to myself, if I can afford it. I prefer privacy. If I feel like to sleep naked then I can. And beside I get woke up easily even a little noise, so I rather have a whole place to myself.

A room alone that cost more...then you don't have to worry about anyone having sex in the bed beside you

Probably sharing with someone, I really care about cost. But depends on my roomate, if its not a good roomate, i would choose alone.

if affordable, room by myself
any time people have roomed with me, they seem to move on. so I guess I'm THAT guy everyone's afraid of roomin with. so if its too expensive, I'd take the roomate, cuz they dont last long
