I am contemplating putting some mods on my Mac and need to know if the mods are written only for PCs or if they are cross-platform. Newb question, I know, but still.

I know that I have downloaded a lot and they do not work with with Macs. I have them in my addon folder and they never show up for me to use. It kinda sucks. I have tried searching for Mac specific addons without much luck. If you want to know some of the addons I use, just email me. http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files/addons/ has a lot, but nothing Mac specific. This might help some. http://www.macobserver.com/columns/slackersguide/2005/20050812.shtml

I know some of the players in my guild use mods on their macs, so I'd guess they're cross-platform. Your best bet is to logon to http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/files/addons/ and browse through the list - some may specify that they're only for pc. if nothing else, download the files, and read the use .txt, it might tell you in there.

If you're looking for good mods, I'd suggest bongos, its a great action bar mod that makes it so easy to customize your UI.
