Sid, son of Adam, Americans and their kind are a proud, generous people, who freely give of themselves. The deep magic has stayed with them.
You know in your heart of hearts that you have slighted them.

When in American history have there NOT been incidents?
If one looks at race relations dating to the ante bellum South, to our curious attachments to Evangelical fundamentalist Christianity, or our tendency to get mired down in the sumps of needless wars such as Vietnam and Iraq, its a given that, as Stokley Carmichael once said, " violence is as American as apple pie" . Don't forget 200 years of genocide directed against the native inhabitants either or our passion for guns.
Jingoistic, flag waving, xenophobia dates well before the Spanish American War, and is with us today.
I note how passionately we defend our use of capital punishment, particularly in my own state of Texas.
Many of us grew up fearing the police, depending on ones ethnicity. I would ask why not be filled with hate. Its a tradition.
That said, its been a while since civil war in England over monarchy vs parlimentarian and religious allegiance.
I don't believe Britain is immune and reflect on its history with Ireland. You won't find much love for posing a question like this however.

It would depend on the question you asked.

If you are the typical European we generally have to listen to, who call us "war mongers" " killers" and other such crap, but do not know a single thing about the issues facing the U.S., then you will naturally get a hostile response.

Americans are fiercely patriotic. We do not even tolerate those in our own country who put us down, or take a "dump" on our flag. We tend to be called upon to do the dirty work that the rest of the world refuses to do, with the exception of Australia and New Zealand, who have grit and guts. We admire them.

It's appalling the amount of poison that was spewed from Europe when we retaliated for the killing of 3000 innocent people in New York City and Washington D.C. on September 11th, 2001. I wonder why Europe thinks we're supposed to sit back and allow our people to be slaughtered needlessly in our streets without the least bit of retaliation.

I can't remember the last kind word I ever received from anyone in Europe. We get only bad mouth from them. And when we defend the honor of our country, Europeans want to call us the "bad boys" of the world. So be it, we'll wear that with honor!

If an American wanted to "pop a cap" in you, then you really must have provoked him/her. ( Yes, our girls carry guns too! ) I don't know any self-respecting American who would roll over and take that kind of crap from anyone.

As for Americans "squatting", I don't think so. And even that wouldn't compare to the British when they tuck tail and run. I believe we whipped the crap out of you folks a few times, if I recall. You're welcome to come back and get it whipped again.

Signed,

Patriotic, gun toting, "bust a cap in you", American! And proud of it!

I feel a country in panic, as the US is at present, in my opinion, along with the absolute lies and outright slaughter that their government continues to dish out on the rest of the world, can only lead to hatred. Our own government(UK) is doing just the same. if I may just direct you to just two places of reading, I do hope this may enlighten you in some way Sid. I do really enjoy your provoking questions by the way.
Yours

Probably because you sound like the sort of person who would enjoy having "a c*ck popped in your ar*e".

What happened to Sir Toppam Hat's answer. Did you have him taken out?

Sorry about that, mate, but we're a wild bunch, and just about any one of us from 8 to 80 will kill you under the wrong circumstances.

I think you are a might confused. Look at the words of your own countrymen's towards us, before you stick a needle in the eye of another's countrymen, will you? I have seen you type a few nasty remarks towards USA, a country you know nothing about.

Sid, welcome back. We love to hate, it comes from our leadership and our two party system. With that said you guys seem to be having as much trouble in your country as we do in ours. Your citizens support a Monarchy that has never worked and in my opinion serves no purpose other than to keep the elite, elite. What can I say, we took our lead from you a couple of hundred years ago. I guess that makes us your red-headed step-children.
