Certainly. Good souls in India have predicted that to happen. If you carefully watch the development in all pheres of life you would see that change happening. (Todays news: " Tata takes over a foreign steel company" . It is just a beginning.

it depends on what you exactly mean by getting rich.
how do you judge richness ? is it by the per capita income, strong currency, g d p growth etc ?
if that is so then it will definitely take some time but india will become rich.
look at america. they have all the wealth in the world, but they are spiritually poor. They still have serious issues like juvenile crime, rape, dacoity, murder, teenage pregnancy, suicides etc.
look at japan. the yen is one of the strongest currencies in the wordl. they are superb in automobiles and semiconductor.
but is the average japanese happy. his life is full of stress. the suicides rates in japan are the highest in the world.
In terms of spiritual happiness india is the richest country in the world. In terms of material happiness it is the united states.
Neverthless both are necessary. We need to strike a balance. But with adequate improvement in education, R & D, agriculture, governance etc india will no doubt become the richest country in the world.
india's advantages ----
huge man power, a vibrant democracy, good english speaking populace, very tolerant people, aundant cultivable land, abundant rivers, good monsoon, the most balanced climate in the world, good rail network, excellent postal system, superb telephone connectivity, an emerging leader in nuclear technology,
..... growing strength in IT exports, good banking system, strong culture, family values, a very young population, youth power.
if all these things are channelised in the right direction --------
120 % sure .... india will be a world leader !!!!!!!!!!

Right now, India is one of the poor countries in the world. but the Indians are richer than any other people....
Still we r leading in Rice cultivation, Textile industries, Fishing dept., Sugar Manufacturing, Steel plant, Coal mining, An an average, Indian dont have money in his pocket. But he owns lands, vehicles, and many more. Land investment, jewel investment were high in India. India is rich enough, and only because of thi reason, most of the mobile phone companies invaded India, most of the foregin goods like Reebok, Adidas, Lux and many more were investing the money for the Indians.......
