If I buy an external hard drive, can I just plug it into this laptop and carry on downloading music forever more? Or is it not as simple as that? 500 gigabyte ones seem to be only about 125 quid. I could get a lot more stuff on there. Might even listen to it one day. Is it straightforward?

Yea just plug it in and away you go. I would reccomend you stay away from the really chap ones, i think maplins are doing an offer on a seagate 400Gb for about 80 quid.

yes. The external hdd should function like a removable media.

yes its simpal you just plug in the external HDD & use the space
