It depends on the alloy. The term "alloy" is generic, there are literally thousands of commercial metal alloys used for everything from "tin"cans and paperclips to jet engines and artificial hip joints. If your earrings do turn your skin green, DO NOT CONTINUE TO WEAR THEM. Some metals, like Ni (which is known to turn skin green) cause a sensatization of the body so the second time you are exposed you react more than the first, and the third time you react more than the second and this can become serious. You want a good grade of stainless steel (and there a dozens and dozens of stainless steel alloys) so you want is a stainless steel alloy that has been tested for compatibility with the human body. Stainless steel alloy 316L is used for temporary surgical implantation, like when they use screws to hold a broken bone together long enough to heal and then they remove the screws.

This can be a fun job to resolve. Get a power hose ensuring that you have waterproofs on. Had to do this job for my Mum and it was amazing how quickly the power hose got rid of it all. The thing is it will reappear but at least you will then have the experience of knowing what to do.
Have fun :)

The green effect is caused by the growth of moss, so you would need to spray with a moss killer such as jeyes fluid. .It takes about 4 days to have an effect, so be patient. Obviously do this on a dry day for it to have the best effect.

Get a good algae remover to clean them, but you may want to actually solve the wetness issue that allows the algae to grow first.
Good luck, HTH
