ok look it doesent matter where u place the sensor bar because it the wii has an option that u can set it so if the sensor bar is under the tv then it will give u that option that way the sensor bar will aim a more higher spot to catch the signal of the wii remote and u can also set the sensitivity higher so that the bar will be able to track u quicker and move more like u do so yeah. all im saying is that it wont matter where u put it as long as its under or over the tv..

You must put the sensor bar directly above or below the TV screen. It comes with a sticky strip, so you can attach it to the top or bottom frame of the TV - this is what you'll want to do, since it is (I assume) free-standing on the wall. Then, the Wii has a settings screen where you can specify where you put it, so the Wiimote knows where to look for it.

I have experience with the Wii. I have a 40" flat screen on a cabinet, and the sensor bar is stickied to the top of the cabinet, about 3" under the bottom of the TV screen.

i have a 50" tv about 2 1/2' off the ground, and set it in the cabinet, and just open the cabinet. you can go to options at the wii menu and set whether you sensor bar is above or below your tv.

you have it elevated to five feel off the ground. i would honestly say put it on the bottom. i have a 37 inch and its only up i think 36 inches and i have my sensor at the bottom and it works great. you can always try doing both. go to the setting and tell the wii you have it on the top, then do it with the sensor at the bottom. see what you like better.

We have a 40" on a stand and we still have the sensor on top of the tv itself. it works fine as long as you dont have to be really close to your TV. we tried it under the tv on the stand but that was too low.
