It is great for selling your unwanted items/gifts etc. but if you buy items specifically to sell on there or earn over a certain amount you may get clobbered for tax.

It takes practice and patience and luck. I started selling things around the house and then started going to tag sales and going out of business sales and sometimes I was lucky and hit the mother load. You can't screw up though, bad feedback lowers your rating and then nobody will buy from you. There are a few books available but I would go over to the site and read, read and re-read everything.

It isn't the best way becauase everyone on E-bay has to own a paypal account. If you don't want a to own a paypal account, then there will be no businss to transact. I had my paypal account stolen. i tired to notify them, but I can't get through, so if you want to do business, open a paypal account with a credit card. I don't want your bank account to be stolen.

eBay can help you make money, but it's not a guarantee that you will!
I've sold a few bits and pieces, but not making my fortune quite yet ;)
I found this website helped me out when I was starting - it just helped explain the basics really: http://www.moneytowers.com/2006/free-stuff/making-money-from-ebay/
