how do i clean a feather quilt?

I live in the Czech Rep and there are no dry cleaners here to clean my feather quilt....How do i clean it????

It is possible to wash it ;

( a feather quilt, is usually too heavy, for a domestic washing machine )
SO-------
so you need , to wash it in a warm bath
use a good detergent and rinse well
you need to be strong, to lift it out of the bath

put it through the mangle ,
to get as much water out as you can

and air on the clothes line ,outside,
on a good blowy, sunny day
shake frequently to fluff up feathers

This is not a job, to tackle till late Spring or Summer

Use the laundry mat reason your place stuff isn't sufficiently vast. Use a mushy liquid cleansing soap in a extensive (triple loader) front loading device. Toss in a pair of laundry balls or tennis balls will artwork. (wash the balls with the canopy). Then placed the canopy and the balls with a pair of vast sparkling and dry towels in the dryer and placed on low warmth. it is going to take an hour or longer based on the dimensions of the canopy. Use fabric softener in the washer and a pair of dryer sheets in the dryer. The towels help soak up moisture from the canopy and the balls fluff it back into shape because it dries. The dry cleaners will do this for you yet verify you tell them to bathe it, not dry sparkling it. You never decide to dry sparkling a feather (down) cover or comforter through fact the answer will make the feathers (down) brittle and that they're going to poke in the path of the textile.

Big washing machine. Preferably a front loader because they get more water out of the washing. If you or family don;t have a big enough machine, go to a laundromat.

you must never dry-clean a feather quilt, the solvent fumes are quite dangerous, you must wet clean as avised earlier.

Lucas is correct. I wash mine, throw a couple of tennis shoes in the dryer with it to fluff the down.
