Wouldn't it have a negative impact on a person's life rather than improving it?

There is a benefit to forgetting some problems, things heard, news items, etc.

A wise person I knew told me that the happiest person probably is the village fool. In other words, knowledge and understanding of knowledge tends to increase a person's mental anguish or suffering.

It would probably improve if the data you remembered could be put together in a meaningful way. Otherwise you would have to sort through it all constantly to find out what really applied. Forgetting is sometimes a blessing to avoid information overload.

Unfortunately - I do remember everthing - I have memories from when I was 9mos and if I read a book then I don't have to read it again.
It is pretty great and awful at the same time - remember memory is subjective so even if you do remember everything , someone else will have a different experience.

But then again I don't have to look things up or recheck my sources.
