it is cathartic to be able to write down what is on your mind to a perfect stranger. Anonymity it easy to maintain- it is like the therapy method of keeping a journal

I come on here and my husband does too... We dont hide anything from each other... This is a forum for quesitons and answers and that is it... Just suggestions and ideas ... We are in no way professional counselors and therapists and if people have in depth problems they need to seek professional help for them. My husband knows i do this... What is the big deal? Why should you have to hide this from someone unless you are doing something you are not to be doing on here? I like reading questions here even though some are funny or some do not make sense but i like helping people with suggestions and ideas and pointing them to the right direction for help if at all possible. I also love the interaction and the input from people too! I think it is fun and a hobby as well. There are also people who come on here that will ask things and talk because they are embarrassed to talk to someone in person.

I'm on here because I genuinely like to help people.Whether or not my advice is any good I don't know but at least it's an offering.I reckon the best aspect of this site is that you can get a cross section of suggestions from many people in a short space of time and from those who have no agenda or self interest in the issue your concerned with.
A week or so ago I asked a question which was highly personal and to do with a family relationship. The feedback I got, whilst it didn't solve the problem in itself ,certainly gave me support from others in similar circumstances.
In other words its free therapy both for the giver and receiver

This was the only place I could go and be somewhat anonamous. My husband has done some things that I could not even talk to my best friend about. It hurts me very much. I came on here to get answers. But, I found it very rewarding to answer others questions about problems or situations that I have already been through.

I actually don't ask questions about my problems. Infact, I'm not really sure I have any or at least any problems that I'll get all dramatic over and rush around all woe is me like. My lover knows I visit this site, he makes fun of me for it. I just go here because I think it's entertaining and I can't think of anything else to do right now.

I first started coming on this site because I do night shift and it's very quiet. It gave me something to do for a few hours. Then when I reading some of the questions some of them actually related to me. The answers other people have given actually helped me understand things a little better.
I went home and told my husband and showed him the site he now enjoys going on the site too. I love to try and help people and the added benefit is they actually help me too. I don't feel embarrassed asking questions because no one knows who i am, and I don't feel obliged to accept what people say when I ask questions cause I can't hurt anyone's feelings.

Personally I have just joined this site and it is just what I needed. I am being honest about my Questions and there are serious problems that some times i have felt i can not share with somenoe close.
Open answers from strangers have got me thinking postively.
And for those who send genuine answers thank you and keep it up.

I posted a question once because something was really bothering me and I didn't know who I could trust.
I answer questions in "Marriage & Divorce' because .... ummm .... I've been married five times to four men and thought maybe I could spare someone the mistakes/pain I have experienced.

Some people like to ask questions anonymously... Because asking a friend or family member makes you look like a thick muppet... Whereas on here, you have people who don't know you... And you have the life experiences of potentially several BILLION people... :D That has to be worth a lot...
Personally, I like helping others, flirting and generally amuse myself...

There are some things we chose not to tell our friends for fear of what they will say or how they will think of us. And I must admit, I've always wanted to be Ann Landers so this is a way to dispense my advice and know that someone, somewhere, may read it and listen.
