No one wants to get injured in a car accident on a slippery road. How many inches of snow is dangerous enough to call off school or work? What state are you from and what are the "snow day" policies where you live? If you don't know the policies just give me your opinion.

One flurry ~ schools closed
~ no toilet paper, bread or milk on any shelves in any store.

In Texas we just had the big ice storm and a few inches of snow near here - the roads were closed for the longest 3 days most people can remember since 1985. Some places in the hill country north of here had more snow.

In Texas we're not used to driving on icy roads - they close the roads when it's freezing rain and ice.

I live in northwest Mississippi just 16 miles south of the TN state line. We're getting a little, and I mean little sleet and snow tonight, our first of the season, and I saw on the news already that every school in Memphis is closed. So it depends on where you live and the capability of community to deal with it. We aren't used to it here in the south.

In Southeast Michigan it has to be 12 inches or more, for government buildings and schools to close. Private business varies.
