I brought my 1978 Ducati over from England to USA 4 years ago. If the bike is less than 25 years old you will have to upgrade it to meet current specs - very expensive! If older you should have no problems, just make sure you have a title or copy of purchase receipt to prove ownership, you may also need a certificate of export from Indian DMV or equivalent, and when you get it here it will have to be inspected by an Inspector from your local DMV before you can get a US title. Make sure the shipping company has all their paperwork in order too, they should be able to arrange customs clearance for you. Not sure it would be worth it with the transportation costs etc but that's your decision.
