If you value your own life, make your own choice as to what YOU want. Why would a person ask someone they loved to leave a job/career--unless it was damaging, illegal, excessively dangerous? If you DO decide to change jobs, don't blame her if I turns out wrong. It's your choice! If you stay with what you're doing, she can go with you if she loves you, or leave to find someone else she can manipulate and dominate.

Firstly, maybe you should be asking counsel from supportive, trusting friends not strangers on the net hehe.

Secondly, I don't know the full story of your situation but you shouldn't have been made to choose your love for your girl or your job. If you can't stand your job fine - go take another path, but think about how your job is affecting your relationship and if you want to risk the loss. However, are you willing to face losing a job.

I had a friend who felt that her boyfriend was treating her 2nd to career/money. He traveled a bit and worked long hours however, he stopped and started university. They've broken up recently but she has always felt 2nd rate. I also know a friend who is dating someone who works at the mines and she misses him a lot.

Relationships are about sacrifice. Sit down, figure what is important to each of you, where the road is leading, and what you are willing and ready to let go.

best of luck! there is no such thing as a wrong or right decision.

ps. career - i'm ambitious and i can choose my way all the time! But love is nice and warm too - i know i'll bump into that while i'm doing my career.

Love - it provides those roses that get you through the long winter.

Having said that, if your girlfriend loves you, shouldn't she, within reason, support you in your career (unless you are a hit-man or some nonsense like that)? Sounds like she might be jealous of your job instead of supportive of you.

If she loves you enough, she wouldn't force you to give up your job.
