I am asking how many civilians have been killed in bombings, shootings, etc.

To Buck Flair

I was refering to casualties in Iraq, I should have made myself clear. It seems that if it isn't happening in your backyard you can ignore it.

Better question, how many civilians have died at the hands of their own Muslim brothers?

I'll probably get about 10 thumbs down for this but here goes anyway.

Peanuts - yes, PEANUTS, kill more Americans than terrorism. Not an opinion, that is a proven fact.

Now I'm not saying terrorism isn't a threat, or isn't a terrible thing at all. It is.

What I AM saying is the so-called 'terror threat' is being hyped to ridiculous proportions, far beyond the actual level of danger it actually poses to the average person. Every other day there is some kind of 'terror alert' or foiled terror plot to keep the population in fear.

Why? To get the public to willingly sacrifice their liberties and freedom for the temporary security of 'keeping them safe' from terror.

Statiscally you probably have more chance of winning the lottery than being killed in a terror attack. That is a fact.

That depends what you mean by terrorism. Technically, terrorism is the use of force / violence to acheive political means. So, technically, every war, conflict etc... is an example of terrorism, except that it is carried out by states, not groups / individuals. In that case the number of people killed would be very high.

Far too many !!!
I don't recall anyone asking me if I wanted to be saved from Saddam, I haven't heard anyone who was asked.
I surely haven't heard of anyone from Iraq who asked to be saved from him either. If I had, I might feel different about the war.
The question should be, now that we know the truth, how many more civilians will have to die?

What is your definition of terrorism? To one side they are terrorists to the other freedom fighters. Do you want to know the numbers of people killed by the Bush/Blair alliance or the number of freedom loving defenders of their homelands?

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and so your question cannot be answered.
