its just an excuse the same with all violence. Football teams, religion, race etc. These are people who just like violence and have to hide behind something to justify it to others and themselves

No Holy Book, whether the Bible, Qur'an or Dhammapada, has ever urged people to do injustice or commit murder. They all teach peace and brotherhood.

Jay J, you have obviously not read the Qur'an. If your army commander tells you to kill your enemy, would you consider that wrong? Infidels were the pagan armies that were trying to annihilate Muhammad and His followers, every last man, woman and child. He had to defend them. However, you haven't mentioned that the Qur'an also tells Him to make peace with the infidels, if they want it. One is only allowed to fight to defend oneself, never in aggression. This verse has nothing to do with Christians or Jews.

People use religion to justify violence because it is a convenient excuse, it makes their actions look good and seemly. Unfortunately, many people confuse this distortion with reality and think that the religion itself causes violence and conflict.

Quassimodo rescued esmeralda who was accused of being a witch..he rushed to the steps of Notre Dame and yelled SANCTUARY...SANCTUARY. In the olden days churches and cathedrals had the power over the law and tell the law to let them deal with the felon, and by doing so they could make the felon back their religion and repent. Unfortunately it could not help the maid of Orleans. And even though today some people are still using religion to hide behind. It was better than a fate worse than death.

No, it fairly is not justified. Are they actually a believer of the religion they declare to be committing those acts interior the call of? maximum religions concentration on faith, desire and love...and treating human beings the way you may desire to be taken care of. in the event that they're committing acts of violence interior the call of a particular faith, probability is it fairly is a front. From the fruit of his lips a guy enjoys stable issues, however the untrue have a longing for violence. Proverbs thirteen:2

Because, as you said, it is an EXCUSE. Anytime there are people and you have just one person that wants to weld power and control over others, that person will use any means, usually deceit, to gain power. That gives the person control over people, and control over people usually entails control over wealth. Control over wealth is power. Unfortunately, power most often corrupts, and as the saying goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Those that use deceit are known as demagogues; they use deceitful means to gain and maintain control over people, and to mislead them. Whether in religion or politics, demagogues are those to be careful of... or maybe exposed for what they are and shown the way out. Let's face it, religion and politics are good business ventures... take a look at how politicians and religious leaders live off the public and the live VERY comfortably, too (uisually better than the general populace).

The Bible and other religious books were written by men with personal political agendas, which conflicted with others who went on to write their own versions for the same reason: personal agenda for leadership (on their part). "MY way is better than yours, so my way is the ONLY way..." Leaders usually have one thing in common, whether religious or political leaders, and that is: they are egocentric and become egomaniacs with power, and moreso when they are bloodthirsty for more power (or in their sick little minds, WORLD power).

Conflicting would-be (total) leaders use people as pawns for their personal agenda. Conflict. Strife. Petty jealousy, envy, etc. Additional conflicts. Assaults that exalates to criminal activity and leads murders, which ultimately can lead to civil or national war and often genocide (simplified for pusposes of not writing a tome or a voluminous reply in this limited space).

You would have to go back to Abraham's time and review the actions that were taken regarding his two sons. The split in that family ended up as the establishment of the Jews as a religious group and that of Islam eventually. It is a case of ancient hatreds that have never been resolved.

Not many religions advocate violence, though many quasi religious organisations, which should be defined as political rather than religious, do.
If muslims want to fight a war against the west then get elected and fight on equal terms.

If you are a true Christian, then it is impossible to hide behind religion to justify violence. All violence that has been commited in the name of Christianity is corrupt and wrong. The Bible says loud and clear "thou shalt not kill..." and "Love your neigbour as you love yourself". Your "neigbour" is not only your friends but also your enemy.

After much independent searching and asking i have concluded they do not fully understand the gospel message. they forget it is the word they are doing battle with and not the flesh. the flesh wimps out when the word continues to battle. when they have taken the bible into study and not gone beyond their nose then they have taken the gospel to all the corners of the earth given to them internally. Many have placed their own task upon the minds of others to do for them to see and when they fail, they are punished yet they would not bring with full truth the same upon them self.
