Ben is a black and white rat. The boy(Danny) in the story is handicapped, I think he had open heart surgery. Anyway, he is restricted in his home, does not have any friends, except his sister. One night he goes for a walk, slips out, he comes to a drainage ditch where he sees the rat that he names Ben. Ben becomes friends with him. Comes to his window every night and the boy lets him in. but Ben becomes hungry and somehow he conveys this to the boy. He follows Ben to the drainage ditch where he (Rat) enters & the boy following. There the boy sees thousands of rats. He says "you have a nice family Ben". Then he starts seeing reports in the newspapers and on TV of rats, getting in grocery stores and eating all the food. Finally the town finds the drainage ditch and uses flame throwers to kill the rats. The boy goes home, crying and goes to bed. Ben crawls to the window, wounded and almost dead. Song plays, Ben some people would turn you away, they don't listen to a word you say, They don't love you like I do. Very sad, I saw Movie at a drive in and all my children cried at the end. There is a Sequel to this movie, called Willard, a young man finds Ben and uses him to get even with the people he does not like, also a good movie, this one uses trained rats, hundreds of them. Hope this helps. You can rent the movie.

Written for the 1972 movie of the same name. It was the sequel to a movie called Willard, which was remade in 2003 starring Crispin Glover.

Ben is a pet rat. In the movie, a young boy befriends the rat, but the rat turns evil and recruits other rats to attack humans. In the remake of Willard, Ben becomes an enormous super-rat.

Despite being about a rat, the lyrics are touching and sentimental, and make no reference to rodents. A lot of people were very moved by the song.

The world has lost a true and rare star in the form of Michael Jackson. Never has there been such an amazing talent as him. His talent and fan base has been compared to that of The Beatles and Elvis, but i think its fair to say that he is a legend much bigger than any other band or artist. His songs were truly influential to the music world and set a standard so high that nothing since has really compared. There has been no other artist who has achieved such dizzy heights as Jackson. For me, Michael Jackson inspired me with his dancing skill and his songs. There isn't a song of his that i don't love. I know most of the words to his songs, and could watch his dancing for hours on end. Now i wasn't some super fan, but i believe he was a true idol and i don't think the world will see such a talent ever again. I feel he was misunderstood and his quirky (and sometimes a little off the wall) ways were taken completely the wrong way by the world. It saddens me that the world is such a judgemental and harsh place, and i wish he could have seen how many loyal and loving fans he had. RIP Michael Jackson.

Ben was a rat but on the other hand he was his only and best friend. Ben accepted him for himwithout reservations and protected him unlike anyone else.

"Ben the two of us we look no more, we both found what we been looking for, with a friend to call my own I'll never be alone...."

Ben was a rat. I was a theme song for a film about the relationship between a boy and his pet rat. How mad is that? It's like Craig David and Kes.
