Say that there was no dependencies. you didn't have to work for money, you can just do whatever you want. no limits.

I do believe in an afterlife, but in the sense that my spirit will be released and engulfed into everything. so for the short time on this physical world. what is the best way to spend your life?

DOING WHATEVER GODS WILL IS FOR YOU. HELPING OTHERS ALWAYS BRINGS SATISFACTION!!! WISH I KNEW THAT 25 YEARS AGO.

No dependecies?

Then I think the best way to spend one's life is to do almost everything and what you've always wanted to do.

Before I pass on, I would like to travel around the world, go sky-diving and all those things I probably didn't have the guts to do.

I don't really believe in an afterlife but I do believe in reincarnation. There's a soul in each individual and at the end of each life, it returns to a huge pool of souls and awaits to be reborn somewhere on the planet. If you play Final Fantasy VII you'll know what I mean.

Oh yea. Be happy too.

I would advice you to learn Yoga. Meditation brings wisdom. And your spirit will grow. You will not have no bad dependences. And you will earn some kind of points for your afterlife.
You do not have to spend all your life in meditation. But Yoga will help you to see how stupid is this physical world.

Basically when you say "you didn't have to work for money", you are in fact agreeing you are dependent on lots of things. That is right now all that you are working for is money. And all that money serves is to satisfy ur needs (and wants). So you do need things apart from yourself to survive! Which in turn means you would still be dependent even if you didn't need to work for money.
Each one of us is different and there cannot be one answer to your question. Each of us would do what we love to do. Now, what someone loves differs from person to person. But according to me we would tire out doing what we love and eventually lose interest in it too.
So what is it that is worth the time and effort? All of us truly need something that never exhausts, that we can never get enough of. Is that who is God?

The best way is to do what life wants you to do. Then you will always be happy and by your happiness help others.
